  4. For the photo, upload a picture of your head and shoulders, like a selfie.
  5. Choose how long the block lasts and what it covers, then agree to the terms.

For questions before you sign up, call a program representative at 1-844-468-8034.

You can put smaller limits in place on any site

Blocking everything is not required for you to take control. On every approved site in Alberta, you can cap deposits and losses and set a limit on your playing time (Alberta iGaming Corporation). Look in your account for a page named "Responsible Gaming" or "Account Settings". Play Alberta links to GameSense, the province's safer-play service; a GameSense advisor answers at 1-833-447-7523.

Where to find support if gambling no longer feels fun

Call Alberta's Addiction Helpline at 1-866-332-2322, any time. 211 Alberta offers private, free help day and night through phone, text or online chat (Alberta iGaming Corporation), and 811 reaches Health Link. When gambling becomes a problem for someone close to you, 211 Alberta also helps family members.

Common questions

Does self-exclusion cover Play Alberta?

Yes. Every approved site is blocked at once, private ones included, and Play Alberta is one of Alberta's approved sites.

Can I stop my self-exclusion early?

The program asks you to pick the length when you sign up, from six months to three years. To ask about your own block, call the program at 1-844-468-8034 or send a request through selfexclusion.ca.

Does it block sites Alberta has not approved?

No. Only approved sites are covered by the program. Any site missing from AGLC's register, like the ones listed in our register check, falls outside the program, which is one more reason to stick with approved sites.
